The flag of the Town of Washington, Dutchess County, New York, is a replica of George Washington's personal flag. It is blue with 13 six-pointed stars. The full story is submitted in "Millbrook NY Round Table" from 26.11.1992, together with photocopy of the photo from the event.

The ratio seems to be 3:5 and the stars are six-pointed, upright, and thin (low density); they are set in five staggered rows of 3+2+3+2+3 and placed at equal distances of each other and the edges of the flag, respective to their centers. The shade of blue probably matches Old Glory Blue and the diameter of the enscribing circle for each start seems to be 1/6th of the flag height.

The original flag's ratio is 1:1.29. The Town probably stretched this into 3:5 as all good US manufacturers like to do. The original shade of blue is very pale, probably faded from some unknown darker shade, but definitely NOT the dark blue we now associate with Old Glory. When Grace Cooper was studying this flag (and I went along on one trip with her) she asked to open the frame so she could peek at the remaining hem where some evidence of original color might be, but she was told no.
