The Town of Lincoln, Maine may have a flag. I have a photo I took more than 20 years ago of a rectangular sticker in the window of a car parked in an Augusta, Maine parking lot that looks like a flag. I have been meaning to go to Lincoln someday and nose around but have never had the chance.

An approximately 2:3, green field with a white ring with a black edge and black text: Upper arc "Lincoln Maine", in capitals, with at each end, just above the middle line a five-pointed star pointing straight up; lower arc "-1829-", the dashes apparently not following the arc. The inside of the ring, approximately half the width of the flag, shows two orange blocks, slightly lighter at the top, with what may be intended as door-handles, in between which run what looks like a stretch of green street with green sidewalks, with in the middle of the road a light blue lake, with a fish in it. At the bottom it says "The Gateway Town", all in capitals, in black on the green, suggesting the orange blocks may be gates. Beyond the left orange block stands a green pine, beyond that the green ends at black silhouettes of three buildings, against a snow-capped pink mountain in the background. Above all that light blue, with centred a white five-pointed star.

The seal design depicts two opening gates leading to a lake (Lincoln is also known as the land of the thirteen lakes), a pine tree, a paper mill, and the mountains. The mill is now probably going to close unless some entity wants to take it over and get it back up to production speed while the lake and tree are local symbols, and the mountains are, in fact, up the only road from the center of Lincoln going North. The mountain is probably Katahdin, Maine's highest, which is visible from there and through which town you have to pass to get to it, for the most part.
Lee Rand of Rand Advertising in Lincoln, Maine (also a well-known local photographer) responded that he thought the sticker was originally designed with the intention of being made into a flag. However, he says the "Flag decal was designed by former Lincoln resident Marc Delle, now a "signature artist" with the Disney company, for Lincoln's 150th birthday in 1979. His father built Lincoln's first (only) radio station in the 1960's- WLKN. Their family moved to Florida in the 1980s. One or two cloth flags were made.

I found in my old folders an image of the Lincoln flag, but on a light blue
background. It might be a proposal or something similar.
