I called the town hall of Wallingford because I noticed a purple flag with the word "Wallingford" in a town chamber picture on Facebook.

The flag is purple. In the center is a blue seal-like circle divided into quarters by a white line. In the top left corner are three yellow gears. In the top right corner, an open book with a black cover. In the bottom left, a bundle of wheat. In the bottom right, an 8-pointed star(?) with four yellow lines protruding from the four corners almost like an X. The top of the flag reads "WALLINGFORD CONNECTICUT" in white. Below the blue circle emblem is a white ribbon that reads "TEXTUM EMIT TERRAM". The Latin phrase means "The text bought the land" in English, possibly suggesting a colonial land purchase from Native Americans. Below the white ribbon reads the year 1670 in italics.

The flag is said to be rectangular. Exact dimensions are unknown but I assume it's probably 2:3.
