MTA (website) was established, as the Institute of Mineral Research and Exploration (Maden Tetkik ve Arama Enstitüsü), by Law No. 2,804, adopted on 14 June 1935 by the Parliament and published on 22 June 1935 in the
Turkish official gazette.
The current name of MTA was prescribed in Provisional Clause No. 5 of
Statutory Decree No. 186, adopted on 13 December 1983.
MTA offers services in geological research, mineral exploration, geophysical research, feasibility research, geotechnical research, technological research, and marine and environmental research.

The Energy Market Regulatory Authority (website), headquartered in Ankara, was established by Law No. 4,628, published on 3 March 2001 in the Turkish official gazette. EPDK is a public legal entity with administrative and financial autonomy.
The objective of EPDK is to create a financially strong, stable and transparent energy (electricity, gas, oil and liquefied petroleum gases) market that can operate in a competitive environment subject to the provisions of private law in order to make it available to consumers in an adequate, quality, continuous, low cost and environmentally compatible manner and to ensure an independent regulation and supervision in this market.
