The flag of Azdavay (photo) is white with the municipality's emblem in the middle. "Belediyesi" means "Municipality".
The emblem of the municipality features the Lover's Bridge (photo), which connects Karşıyaka to Azdavay proper. Years ago, two unfortunate lovers thwarted by their respective families planned to commit suicide by jumping from the bridge; informed of the plan, the families eventually made their peace with each other, allowed the marriage, and prevented the suicide just in time.
