The flag of Havran is white with the municipality's emblem in the middle. "Belediyesi" means "Municipality".
The emblem of the municipality features the monument dedicated to Corporal Seyit (photo).
Quoting the Gallipoli Campaign website:
Seyit was born in Çamlık village of Havran, in 1889. Seyit conscripted in April 1909. He joined the Balkan Wars in 1912. After the war was ended, he has not been discharged and recruited for the Çanakkale forces, as a gunner.
On 18 March 1915, there was only one battery standing, on Mecidiye forts located on the European side. However, its shell crane was heavily damaged. Corporal Seyit with an unbelievable strength lifted the shell which was 275 kg, for three times and positioned into the battery. This heroic strength of Seyit seriously damaged HMS Ocean.
Seyit returned home in 1918 where he worked as a forester and a coal-miner. He died in 1939, because of a serious lung disease.
