The arms are Gules a genet (Latin: Genetta genetta) Or striped Sable with snout Argent and in chief a Maltese cross Argent and in base three wedges Or set two and one. Mural crown argent with three visible towers (commune rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "CUNHA - SERNANCELHE".
Meaning:
The wedges (Portuguese: cunhas) are a canting element.
