Coat of Arms

Shield Gules, shifted to chief a cross calvary Argent, flanked at dexter by an olive twig Or fructed Sable and on sinister by a wheat ear Or, on base a a windmill wheel Or with vanes Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "UNIÃO DAS FREGUESIAS DE ALVADOS E ALCARIA".
Meaning:
Olive twigs had been common elements on the arms of both preceding communes, the cross is taken from the arms of the former Alvados Commune, millwheel and wheat ears from those of the former Alcaria Commune.

Presentation of Alvados e Alcaria

Alvados e Alcaria is one of the three communes of Porto de Mós Municipality created by a merger during the 2013 changes. It had 731 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 33,3 km².

Coat of Arms

Shield Gules, a cross calvary Argent flanked by two olive branches Or fruited Sable, in base a millstone Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll (Bénard Guedes style) with inscription in black capitals "ALVADOS".
Meaning:
The cross is symbolising the heritage of local buildings and the religiousness of the people as well. The branch is symbolising the cultivation of olives as main local business line. The millstone is alluding to the various mills in the commune in the past.
