It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain blue field.

Coat of Arms

Shield Or a labarum Argent parted by a cross Gules with pole Sable, flanked by two roof tiles Gules, issuant from base wavy of Argent and Azure a doublemount Vert. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "LAVACOLHOS".
Meaning:
The labarum is an attribute of St. John the Baptist, the local patron saint.

Alcaria is one of the 18 communes of Fundão Municipality not affected by the 2013 changes; it had 1101 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 5,48 km².
