Shield Or, a fess wavy Azure charged with two barrulets wavy Argent, in chief a watermill's demi-wheel issuant Gules, in base a goat passant Gules armed and tongued Sable. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "CORTES DO MEIO"
Meaning:
The wheel is reminding on the numerous corn mills and oil mills of the past, their ruins are filling the whole commune even today. The goat is symbolizing herding as the main business line. The fess wavy is alluding to the banks of Cortes creek. The golden colour is symbolizing the abundance of fauna and flora, the latter colouring the spring landscape into yellow.

Cortes do Meio Commune is one of the 21 communes of the Covilhã municipality (q.v.); it had 884 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 47.7 km².
