It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain green field (village rank).

The arms are Argent two lozenges Sable set in fess the dexter charged with a deer Or and the sinister with a nanny goat Or, in chief a fleur de lis Azure emphasized Or, in base a tree Vert. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "ESPERANÇA - ARRONCHES".

Esperança Commune is one of the three communes of the Arronches Municipality; it 739 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 57.2 km².
