I found the flag of Carolina
at pueblos-de-puertorico.com site (defunct); The image at the Lexjuris
site is the same, apart from the number of hermins.
Description of the flag in Spanish at the Lexjuris site .
Carolina is in Bayamon district, a suburb just southeast of San
Juan
Jarig Bakker, 27 January 2000
Carolina: the sable marks in the coat of arms are very
profuse. I have seen copies of the flags with the same profusion
of marks in the lateral stripes.
Blas Delgado, March 2001
Carolina - Its flag consists of three vertical bands, white
the lateral ones and red the central one. The lateral ones, with
a width of 7 1 modules each, are seeded with black ermine tails
in the heraldic way. In the central band, with a width of 10
modules, appear the sword and crown of the shield, in identical
disposition, with the difference that the colors are white and
yellow instead of silver and gold. This flag has apparently
suffered some changes recently. In two locations within Carolina
I have seen the ermine tails to be golden, bigger and therefore
less numerous, and the triband seems to be of equal size,
although not so sure about this.
Blas Delgado Ortiz, 6 April 2001
Juan Colón De Jesús wrote to the Carolina City Hall and
confirmed that the black ermine flag is still the official one.
The golden ermine flag should be some kind of variant, but I saw
it.
Blas Delgado, 2 September 2001
The "official" flag flying at the brand new
Baseball Park of the Carolina's Giants team has indeed bigger and
fewer ermine spots, but black. What I saw was a decolored flag
due to the effect of sunlight. The ermine are the same, in rows
of three and four, the first row with their heads cut off and the
last one without their bases.
