From the similarity with Croatian the town name "Kozle" might have meaning "a young goat". That might be the origin of the goats in the COA.
Željko Heimer, 18 Jan 1999

Kędzierzyn-Koźle: in Kędzierzyn-Koźle county in the Opolan region, founded in 13th century but remained a village until 1951. ca. 71.000 inhabitants. Željko Helmer is correct in deriving the Koźle part from the word of 'a young goat'; this is an adjective originally denoting a village of shepherds. German name: Kosel/Kandrzin.
