[COA of Vang]image by Tomislav Šipek, 10 December 2015

Blazon: På blå grunn tre skråstilte gull sverd omgjevne av gull liljebord. In English: Azure within a tressure floury three swords bendwise or.
Approved by the royal resolution of 26 June 1987 after a drawing by Stein Davidsen.
From http://www.ngw.nl/heraldrywiki/index.php?title=Vang:
"The arms are based on the arms of Lord Sigvat of Leirhol. He was named as one of the members of the delegation that followed King Håkon V Magnusson to Copenhagen in 1309. Later he became the local governor of Valdres and Hallingdal, Vang is part of the Valdres region. He played a major role in the development of the region and the arms can be seen on different places, among these the local church (probably from the 18th century). The arms are based on descriptions and images from historical rolls of arms."
The municipal site describes the Vang wooden church mentioning the representation of Sigvat's arms that are now the municipal arms. The church was resettled in the 19th century by King Frierich of Prussia in what is today Poland.
