Ouderkerk a/d IJssel is in the Krimpenerwaard, opposite Capelle aan den IJssel. It has a 15th century church with the family-vault of the Counts of Nassau-Ouwerkerk.
Nickname: "Klokkedieven" - Once upon a time the Ouderkerkers and Ridderkerkers ordered both a new churchbell. Both bells were delivered at the same time, but the Ouderkerker bell was a bit dented. They got the bells exchanged, for which the Ridderkerkers were rewarded with a ham. Nevertheless the Ouderkerkers stayed "Bell-thieves" ever since...
