The new municipality of Nieuwkoop (Zuid-Holland)
was formed on 1 January 2006 out of the merger of the former municipalities
of Liemeer, Nieuwkoop
and Ter Aar.
Population (1 Jan 2003): 9.084; area: 21,61 km². Settlements: Ter
Aar (seat), Korteraar, Langeraar, Papenveer.
Flag: Four stripes of red and yellow, of which the lengths are proportioned
3:1:1:1.
