Wijnjewoude village
Wijnjewoude (Frisian: Wynjewâld) is a village in Opsterland municipality,
a merger of the former villages of Duurswoude and Wijnjeterp in 1974. Its
flag and coat of arms are at this
webpage.
Designer: J.C. Terluin, 12 Jun 1999
Description: The red stripes symbolize the fields of heather, while
the yellow stripe points at the long stretch the village forms. The yellow
hoist part symbolizes sandy soil and the blue the canals Ouddiep and Opsterlandse
Compagnonsvaart. The white clover is the symbol of farming.

top a sign with a horse, to show the wind in which way to blow.
