In July 2007 the village will celebrate its 675th birthday with a massive
display of the newly designed village flag: blue over yellow with in the
center a 4-pointed fortress countercharged, seamed twice: the innerseam
has the fieldcolor, the outer seam is black.
The blue stripe symbolizes the "Grote Diep" (canal) and the marsh between
Fryslân and Een.
The yellow stripe represents the sandridge between the two, where Een
is located.
And on the border of sand and marsh is the Zwartendijksterschans.

- the flag is shown there with (faded) white instead of yellow. I have
corrected it according to the site's description.
