About Pemex
"Petróleos Mexicanos, which translates as Mexican Petroleums and is trademarked and better known as Pemex is the Mexican state-owned petroleum company, established on June 7, 1938. by nationalization or expropriation of all private, foreign, and domestic companies at that time, such as Petromex (Petróleos de México, S.A., established in 1933). "

According to "Ley Orgánica de Petróleos Mexicanos y Organismos Subsidiarios" (Organic Law of Mexican Petroleums and Subsidiary Organizations) of July 16, 1992 it overruled the Law of 1971, creating a new structure:

  • Pemex-Exploración y Producción (Official web-site)
  • Pemex-Refinación (Refining): flag (official web-site)
  • Pemex-Gas y Petroquímica Básica (Gas and Basic Petrochemistry): flag (official web-site)
  • Pemex-Petroquímica (Petrochemistry) (official web-site)

    Later reforms reorganized the holding into the following business units:

  • Pemex Exploración y Producción
  • Pemex Transformación Industrial
  • Pemex Etileno
  • Pemex Fertilizantes
  • Pemex Logística
  • Pemex Perforación y Servicios
  • Pemex Cogeneración y Servicios
  • PMI Comercio Internacional SA de CV among other companies
