The council informed me they do not know when the flag of Abasolo was adopted. The flag of Abasolo is white with its coat of arms centered upon it.

Coat of Arms

The coat of arms of Abasolo was designed by Rodolfo Estrella Martínez, being asked to do so by Municipal President Gabino Martínez Negrete (1950-1951). Apparently, the original version had skunks, but by 1970 the original version was lost and a replica was made, modifying the design. Description according to the council:

1. A space with the entire width of the oval, that represents the geographic zone, with its thermal waters, in which Abasolo is situated. [upper section.
2. In the central-left part, the baptismal font in which Don Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla was baptized.
3. In the central-right part, the likeness of Don Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla is projected, and
4. In the lower part of the oval, an orchard of oranges is projected, representing the fruits that existed during the time in which it was an hacienda.
5. The upper part of the oval is crowned by a radiant sun, which sends its rays to the entire surface of the municipality of Abasolo.
6. It is important to note that the shield created by Mr. Estrella had in each one of its sides of the oval, the figure of a skunk, with its front feet raised, as if in vigilant attitude.
[The shield is shaped like an oval].
