The Flag

Located in Yokohama City Kanagawa Prefecture and established in 2012. The embroidered ceremonial hanging flag has green background with a gold symbol mark and vertically written gold kanji university name in gold fringe. The symbol mark is based on the initial letters of Yokohama (Y), Soei (S), and University (U), and the design is based on "vitality" from the lush green environment of Midori Ward, Yokohama City. Straight lines represent unwavering "knowledge" as the trunk of life. The curved lines represent "flexibility" and "humanity. The circle in the mark represents the earth, and the image of the earth firmly rooted in the ground and growing upward. Based on the founding spirit of "people who can think and act," it represents the educational philosophy of fostering human resources who will flourish in the future.
