Located in Kanazawa City Ishikawa Prefecture and established in 1975. The embroidered ceremonial flag has a green background with a gold and silver emblem and vertically written gold kanji university name in gold fringe. The university flag has dark green background with a white emblem. The university emblem is based on the "pine tree" of the Shoun Gakuen School Corporation (now Hokuriku University Educational Corporation) and the "five-supporter pine tree" of the residence of the founder and first chancellor Kamejiro Hayashiya (now Hokuriku University Annex), and also incorporates the "pine tree" of the fifth feudal lord, Lord Shoun Maeda, and a pine-leaf diamond pattern to pray for the university's continued development. The school color is "green" in reference to the pine tree.
