At here and here show the
"symbol mark" of the JFA turned into a banner. This symbol (and flag) was adopted in 2017; the previous symbol (and flag) was used (to my
earliest knowledge) was 2011 according to this post by the JFA (history of the crow symbol). The main difference is the change of font to the FIFA-wordmark like font, the crow to match the emblem used on the
uniforms of the players and the soccer ball was changed to the plain circle (to invoke the national flag).

The flag features the Japanese Football Association emblem in the center and
white letters of c 1994 JFA. The JFA official emblem symbols are: The black bird is a crow with three legs
which symbolizes the sun god in ancient China. Yellow symbolizes fairness and blue
youth.

This website points that this flag
was designed and used in 2006. Here shows
that emblem was in use from 1999 to 2006 (the current emblem is the
same pattern, except for the yellow was changed to white.
