The town emblem was adopted on Nov 6th 1934 but there is no flag law.
The blue flag has a white, a red, a yellow , a grey and a light blue town emblem in the center.
The emblem depicts the rising sun above a river surrounded by two arrows.
The sun symbolizes the town’s development.
Aibetsu means a fast river stream like an arrow in Ainu.

The city emblem was adopted on Jun 29th 1911 and the flag was adopted
on Sep 18th 1970 by Notice No 139. The
blue flag has a red and a white two color city emblem in the center.
The emblem is composed of a white star and a red sun.
The star is the Polestar which symbolizes a historic hardship
the ancestors had experienced. They placed their hope on
the star. The sun represents a center of Hokkaido which
is the geographic location of the city.
The blue color stands for the young people’s will, a rich
culture and nature, the white color for a snow,
ices and a severe climate, and the red color for a
frontier spirit. The flag proportion is 7:10.

The flag color of the image is wrong.
The town emblem was adopted on Feb 25th 1963 and the flag
was adopted on Aug 11th 1969. The town emblem is a stylized
hiragana び Bi of Biei in a form of Mt.Tokachi.
It represents a progress of the town which is always gallantly
growing and an affinity of the people.
The green flag has a gold town emblem in the center.
The flag proportion is not mentioned. The green color stands
for a peace and a health, the gold color for a fatness
and a honor.

The white flag has a blue city emblem in the center.
The city emblem is a stylized katakana フ Fu of Furano.
The outer circle symbolizes the eternal peace and the citizen’s reconciliation by
three districts unity and the sharp edge does a beauty of the mountains surrounding the city
and the city’s exponential development.

The white flag has a green town emblem in the center.
The town emblem is a stylized katakana ヒ Hi of Higashikagura.
It represents an image of the town which soars with the cultural wings based on
a rich ground, fresh stream and creative people’s concord.
The green color stands for a harmony with the people and the rich nature and
the white color for the holy ground.
The flag proportion is 2: 3.
The diameter of the circle of the emblem is 3/5 height of the flag.
The flag law does not mention about white flag with a yellow fringe.

The town emblem was adopted in Jul 1934 and the flag
was adopted on Aug 1st 1968 by Notice No 10.
The purple flag has a white town emblem in the center.
The town emblem is a combination of a stylized kanji 東 Higashi in a form
of a tortoiseshell and a stylized kanji 川 Kawa in a circle form which
represent Chubetsu River and Kuranuma River.
The star symbolizes the Polar star, the center dot does Mt.Asahi.
The purple color stands for the hidden scenic point of Mt.Daisetsu
and the venerableness of the virgin forest and the white color for
the town people’s unyielding spirit.
The flag law does not mention about the construction specification
but only the symbolism of the colors.

on Mar 27th 2006. The new city emblem and the flag were adopted on Mar 27th 2006
by Notice No 2 and 3. The green flag has
a white city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a
stylized N of Nayoro. It represents an image of the city
where the residents of Nayoro and Furen thank for a
natural blessings and develop the new city together. The

The white flag has a green, a blue and a red three color city emblem in the center.
The city emblem is a stylized S of Shibetsu.
The green oblong stands for the earth and merged one city and one town,
the blue color for the stream of River Teshio and the red circle with the letter S
for a runner. It represents the ground and an image of the city making a leap forward.
The flag proportion is 2:3.
The height of the emblem is 66/100 height of the flag.
The length of the emblem is 55/100 length of the flag.
The flag law does not mention about purple flag with yellow emblem and fringe.

The general affairs section says the purple flag charged with a yellow city
emblem with a yellow fringe is NOT the city mayor's flag. They have no idea of
it and guess some organization in the city made it without city's approval
for some purpose.
