The logo is circular and has a blue outline. The background is the sky, with rays being emitted from the sun above. These rays reflect onto an oil derrick with a flame, denoting a primary source of wealth here. This derrick emerges from a map of the governorate, which itself depicts a blue-tinted image of the Kut Barrage beside the waters of the Tigris, a prominent dam in the capital city. Underneath is Wasit Governorate in Arabic. To the sides are golden ears of wheat for the agriculture that forms the valley.
