October 2025The logo of the governorate (unknown if still used) depicts, in circular
format, two ears of wheat signifying agricultural wealth underneath; just below
the wheat are stars, in this case 6 for the districts but today there are 8. I
am not sure if the district uses an updated logo to this day or none at all.
Just over it, the text Duhok Governorate is read in Kurdish. The circular-format
logo has at the top an image of the Kurdish flag around its outer ring. To the
left over a gold part of its ring is DUHOK GOVERNORATE in English; to the right
as the same but in Arabic. At the bottom, a red ribbon covers the ring, and
reads its foundation date in eastern Arabic numerals (left) and in the typical
Arabic numerals on the right: 27-5-1969. Over the center of the ribbon is a
cluster of grapes, as Duhok is the leading grape producer of Iraq. Inside the
ring is an image of a valley with mountains in the background and to the sides,
with an eagle (Eagle of Saladin) soaring above, representative of the State.

The provincial council appears to have adopted its flag in 2019, when it added Assyrian to its logo. The logo has a golden outer ring, with silver inside. The text at the top reads "Council of Duhok Governorate"; to the left side the year 2005 (independence movement year); in Assyrian 2005 is also read to the right. At the bottom "Duhok Provincial Council" is read in English and Arabic. In the center over yellow, a leaf is depicted.
