Mandawa was one of the Shekhawati States, subject to Jaipur, Rajasthan. Details can be seen on the various Forts, Palaces & "Havelis", which are nearly all hotels now.

The flag is yellow with a red edge and a maroon lion

In 2005 I was in what was once the principality of Madawa, and can add:
The central figure, the monkey, is not exact (it seems to be looking up to pole, when really it is looking to the fly), and it is red; the two ribbons over the flag are blue. I do not have a good photo, but on the internet I found a small one. The flag is triangular and hoisted above the Heritage Hotel, that was the official princely residence. This can be the princely flag and I believe that only is hoisted when prince is in the residency.

The two colors red and yellow are hoisted in many sites in gardens or courtyard outside the main palace, and also in other dependencies but in a horizontal arrangement, red over dark yellow swallowtail. The "guard" (today in fact gardeners or so) use same colors red over yellow with swallow tail. I believe that the "national" flag can be red over yellow horizontal.
