White with vertical dark blue stripes along the
hoist and the fly. In the center a dark blue disc
interrupted by white wavy lines in a pattern beyond
by description capabilities...

Difficult to describe indeed, but I have seen that
logo used by other companies’ as a symbol. I can’t
remember where, though.

Isle of Man Steam Packet Company, Ltd.
Description: Red, with IOM, three
legs, SPCo in yellow. HQ in Douglas, Isle of Man.
I've used Stuart Notholt's
image. My sources have the triskellion yellow, see also
http://www.isle-of-man.com/manxnotebook/maritime/iomspco, which has
white
letters, contrary to the books below, which have yellow letters.

From the link provided by Barbara Tomlinson of
The National Maritime Museum:
"The house flag of the Isle of Man Steam Packet Co. Ltd, Douglas, Isle of Man. A
red rectangular flag with the legs of a man in gold in the centre, flanked by
the initials 'IOM' and 'SPC'. The flag is made of a wool and synthetic fibre
bunting. The motifs are cotton and the whole flag is machine sewn. A rope and
toggle is attached."

Post card collection shows a large
triskelion in golden but with black lines, as in the island flag, and with its
center slightly offset to the hoist; yellow letters "IOM" placed to extend into
between the legs of the hoist side and "SPCº" (the "º" nested within the "C")
between the remaining knee and the fly edge; all letters golden yellow narrow
sans serif and without dots.

A page about to ‘Karina’ owned by Laxey Towing at Douglas, Isle of Man:

White field,
bordered red, bearing a large black initial ‘L’ (funnel in the same colours,
Manx flag at the stern).

This firm - founded in 1985 I believe - operates, according to this
website "a fleet of two coasters carrying containers, general and bulk
cargoes trading mainly to Manx ports from Glasson Dock in northwest England and
Carrickfergus in Belfast Lough".
Here we see the company flag:
http://www.all-route.co.uk/shipping.htm, i.e. red with a white disk bearing
a black letter 'M'. (I should add that the funnels show a flag with a blue
field).

Another Manx shipping company and a venerable one at that is
Ramsey Steamship Co. Ltd.
Founded in 1913, first
ship bought in 1914; currently operating three coastal ships "engaged mainly in
carrying bulk cargoes in the Irish Sea and near-Continent trade, and range
from 750 to 1500 tonnes cargo capacity". Also active in the shipping
agency business, stevedoring, and marine engineering. Company seat: Ramsey,
Isle of Man.
The house flag is blue with a white Maltese cross in the
centre and white letters 'R' (upper hoist), 'S' (upper fly), 'S' (lower
hoist) and 'C°' (lower fly). The '°' sign represents a small raised lower-case
'o'.
