Ma'atz (initials for Makhleket Avodot Tziburiot or Public Works Department) is the governmental body in charge of building and maintainance of intercity roads, bridges, interchanges etc. Its unofficial flag is a logo on white and is seen very frequently while driving in Israel.

In 2003 Ma'atz was replaced by HaHevra Haleumit LeDrakhim BeYisrael (Israel National Roads Company), and Ma'atz symbols became obsolete as a new emblem (which retains Ma'atz initials) was adopted as seen at www.pwd.co.il.
