Flag of Val-d'Oise

The flag of Val d'Oise (photo), already used by the General Council, is white with a vertical red stripe placed along the hoist and the departmental logo.
The logo shows on a white background a red "V" flanked by the writing "val / d'oise" (left, in black letters) and "le département" (top, in grey letters).
A variant flag (photo), white only with logo, can be seen on a roundabout at the entrance into the department from Oise), in Survilliers, on departmental road D922.

Unveiled on 20 December 2002, the logo was implemented starting 1 January 2003. Its size and color "convey a warmer and more human image"; it is deemed "very visible and easy to spot".
The former logo, adopted some ten years ago, was deemed less legible because it includes too much information.
Green represents nature while blue represents the institution. Number "95" is the department's symbol while the blue strip represents river Oise.

Flag with a coat of arms

According to French Vexillologist Pascal Vagnat, a white flag with the arms designed by Mireille Louis (daughter of Robert Louis) coulb be observed in a flagmaker’s catalogue [emblemes de France website].
The arms designed by Robert Louis have never been in use. The possible use by the general council a the end of the 1980ies of a white flag with the arms designed by Mireille Louis needs to be verified.
