Cornil (1,304 inhabitants in 2021; 1,966 ha) is a commune in the Corrèze department.

The village, built on a prehistoric site, is dominated by its Romanesque church and the remains of one of its castles. It was an active center in the Middle Ages, coins were minted there under the Merovingians. An important family, the House of Cornil took part in the first Crusades.

The flag is white with the coat of arms and the name of the commune at the hoist vertically in black letters (photo, 2015; photo, 2018).

The coat of arms of the village is the same as the arms of the house of Cornil: Or, two hunting horns stringed Gules one above the other.
