Real Compañía Marítima (Royal Maritime Company) was founded in 1789 for fishing in the seas of the King of Spain in Europe, Africa and America, mainly for the reestablishment of the whale and cod fisheries. The society went to ruin by the early 19th century, in spite of the fact that one of the shareholders was the King.

The house flag of Real Compañía Marítima was the Spanish national flag charged in upper and lower hoist with a yellow disk inscribing a sailing ship and surmounted by a Royal crown.
