The municipality of Mos (13,996 inhabitants in 2005) is located in the Province of Pontevedra.

In "La Voz de Galicia," 28 January 2010, L. Míguez reports that the Municipal Council has launched on 28 January 2010 the adoption process of the municipal flag.
Javier Baquero has already made historical research to back up a flag proposal. The book "El castillo del marques de Mos en Sotomayor" (The castle of the Marquis of Mos in Sotomayor"), published in 1905, describes a putative banner as "chequered yellow and red, with a black stripe, source of the legend." According to historians, the banner appeared later and was originally golden, until the death of a son of the marquis in a hunting party.
In 2008, Baquero wrote a memoir requiring the use of the Marquis' banner by the municipality. The flag proposal was subsequently used locally, for instance in the reenaction of the battle of the Mos Pass against the French.
A colour photo shows J. Baquero presenting two proposals, both chequered yellow and red, 6 x 4, with a thin horizontal stripe in the middle, either black or yellow, and the municipal coat of arms in the middle, placed over the horizontal stripe.

The sinister part of the shield represents the arms of the Sotomayor family.
