The municipality of Castil de Peones (28 inhabitants in 2010; 1,398 ha) is located in the center-east of the Province of Burgos, 30 km of Burgos.

Symbols of Castil de Peones

The flag and arms of Castil de Peones are prescribed by a Decree adopted on 11 March 1999 by the Burgos Provincial Government, signed on 29 March 1999 by the President of the Government, and published on 12 April 1999 in the official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 67, p. 3,883 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:

Flag: Castilian flag, embattled in chief? [en alto], red on top, heraldic blue on bottom. On top cantons a macero* argent.
Coat of arms: Vert a bridge argent over waves azure and argent at each end of the bridge a macero of the second in chief a sundial of the same, a bordure gules eight towers or. The shield surmounted with a Royal crown closed.

*A macero is an usher holding a mace in some ceremonies.
