El Aaiun/Laayoune is the largest city in Western Sahara. It is the claimed capital of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic.

Recently the Polisario Front has posted an image which contains the emblem of El Aaiun. It is a circular emblem divided into 2 sections.
Unfortunately, that is the only image of the emblem available.

The Moroccan administration of the city of Laayoune has a flag and an emblem. The flag consists of an emblem placed on a red bedsheet.

Coat of arms as part of Spanish Sahara

The coat of arms of Laâyoune or El Aaiún was used for the Spanish colony of Spanish Sahara. It was granted by the Spanish Government (Presidencia del Gobierno). The Order of 25 October 1955 was published in the Boletín Oficial del Estado Nr. 334 on 30th of November 1955.

Its blazon is: "Vert a bend wavy Argent and Azure alternately charged with three bendlets wavy Azure“), representing water, in chief a palm tree and in base a natural head of a camel. A bordure Gules with four castles Or and four lions rampant Argent."
