Introduction

Egedal Kommune was created on 1 January 2007 by a merger of Ledøje-Smørum Kommune (Københavns Amt), Stenløse Kommune (Frederiksborg Amt) and Ølstykke Kommune (Frederiksborg Amt).

Ølstykke Coat of Arms

Shield Azure nine arrowheads Argent four three and two, on a chief Argent a herring Gules crowned Or. (Hmm, would this be the famous red herring? ;-)
Ølstykke was a commune within Frederiksborg subcounty (Amt), in northeastern Denmark.The photo shows a very dark shade of blue and very thin black lines separating the white chief from the white background. The shield seems to be shifted to the hoist and there is a very light blue stripe along the fly.
