In 1891 the üAkademischer Schwimm- und Rudervereinü was established. In 1904 the club renamed itself to üAkademische Ruderverbindung üWestfalenüü. At the same time the fraternity was established and the flag was exchanged. The colours of the fraternity had been fixed as colours of flag, blades of the oars and scarf of the members uniforms. They had also been added together with the
Zirkel to the rowing-clubs flag. By law the fraternity and the rowing-club are two different subjects.
