Shield Azure, issuant from base a crozier Argent in pale over all in centre a triangle Or and abased a fess wavy Argent.
Meaning:
Egg had been part of the endowment of the Benedictine Ottobeuren Imperial Abbey and was mentioned within its chronicle in 1180. The abbey had been the most important manorial lord in the village. Since the 15th century Egg had been capital of the namesake lordship. The triangle, I would prefer a pyramid, is taken from the personal arms of the theologian Johannes Maier called Eck. He was born 1486 in Egg. He was well known by his disputation against Martin Luther in 1519. The triangle is also reminding on his half-brother Simon Thaddäus Eck. He had been chancellor in München and one of the leading Catholic politicians. The triangle had been canting being a headstone (German: Eckstein). The fess wavy is a representation of the Günz River.
