In a silver (=white) shield is a red half-timber construction of a house's gable.
Meaning:
Hausach was mentioned as a city and a dominion of the Counts of Fürstenberg in the late 13th century. The oldest known seal is from 1453 and shows a canting house, surrounded by a wall. In 1655 for the first time the house was reduced to a framework of half-timber in the shape of a triangle, though the old pattern was used on a seal made in 1771, which had been in use until 1866. The new pattern was used on the lesser seal since 1776 is used as city arms since 1866. The tinctures are known since the 17th century displaying the colours of the Counts of Fürstenberg.
