Föritztal was established on 6 July 2018 by a merger of the municipalities of Föritz, Judenbach und Neuhaus-Schierschnitz (seat). According to §2 of the local Hauptsatzung, version 19 July 2018 the municipality has no proper banner.

Shield quartered, 1st quarter Argent a sinister facing ibex issuant rampant Gules, 2nd quarter Sable an eagle's head Or, 3rd quarter Argent hammer and mallet Or in saltire, 4th quarter Argent a bend sinister dancetty Gules.
Meaning:
Three of the quarters show parts of the arms of the three most influential noble families in Neuhaus and Schierschnitz. The first quarter shows the ibex of the Gottsmann kin, the eagle of the Walther kin, and the bend in the fourth quarter of the Dannberg kin. The miner's tools in the third quarter show the importance of mining in the history of the area.

Banner and arms were approved on 6 January 1993 and abolished on 6 July 2018.
