Unterdießen Coat of Arms

Shield parted per bend sinister nebuly, above right Azure a mitre Or, beneath left Or a lance Sable in bend sinister.
Meaning:
The arms connect symbols of the former municipalities of Unterdießen proper, Oberdießen (incorporated 1972) and Dornstetten (incorporated 1925). The line of partition is taken from the arms of the Lords of Dießen, known from personal seals from the 15th century. The lords lived in the area between the 12th and the 16th century and owned large estates. Their ancestral seat had been in Unterdießen. The mitre is symbolising St. Rupert. The local patron saint of Oberdießen. The lance is an attribute of St. Gangolf and representing the church of pilgrimage in Dornstetten.
