Town seals of Neuessing existed since 1435 Already the first seal displayed heron and fish in a triangular shield. The choice of the animal is supposed to be originated by the swampy meadows surrounding the town. The pattern remained the same on all seals and in every roll of arms. Only in the 17th century the heron had been replaced by a dove with olive branch. The town was renamed to Essing in 1938.

The arms are in use since the end of the 14th century. The banner probably is in use without approval.
