Meaning:
On 1 January 1973 the municipalities Leukershausen, Mariäkappel, Marktlustenau and Waldtann merged. The new municipality named itself Kreßberg. The Lords of Kreßßberg, which is derived from "Krebsberg" (= crayfish mount) had been local rulers in the 14th century. The arms are thus canting.
