Shield Argent a fess Azure, over all a hand mirror Argent with frame and handle Gules.
Meaning:
The mirror (German: Spiegel) is a canting element and alluding to the local production of glass, especially mirrors. The white shield with blue fess displays the arms of the Landgraves of Leuchtenberg, who ruled the area between 1375 and 1417 and prompted its colonisation. The main settlement and name of the municipality had been Klingenbrunn. Spiegelau was first mentioned in 1521 as site of a glass kiln. During the 19th century it developed, timber industry and glass industry flourished. In 1890 it was connected to the railway. Thus since 1959 Sppiegelau became the new name.
