Alpirsbach City Banner

It is a yellow - blue (light) vertical bicolour. The coat of arms is in the centre of a light-blue bannerhead. The bannerhead is separated from the rest by a horizontal, yellow bar.

Alpirsbach Coat of Arms

In a blue shield is a golden (= yellow) crozier issuant.
Meaning:
The abbot's crozier is first displayed on a seal from 1827. Since 1900 it is used on the arms. Before 1827 the seals of Alpirsbach showed a tree, or a wavy bar with a tree and an arm with an arrow. The crozier is representing the Benedictian monastery, established in 1095. Nearby a market town developed. After the secularisation in 1556 the town became part of Württemberg. It gained city rights in 1869.

Banner and coat of arms were approved on 13 August 1976 by the county administration, published in GABl 312/1977. The flag was in use since 1953.
