Coat of Arms

Shield Azure a lion's head caboshed Or tongued Gules, flanked by three 6-point stars Argent on dexter and sinister chief point and on middle base point.
Meaning:
The stars are taken from the family arms of the Geuder kin, a patrician family from Nürnberg. The lion is probably a differentiation of the Bohemian lion, as the arms were granted to Conz Geuder, who owned the town in 1417, by King Sigismund of Böhmen. In 1836 a new seal was about to be introduced, displaying a canting herald on a mountain. But the local seal was simply abolished in 1885 and the new arms never came to being. In 1937 the old pattern with lion and stars was restored.
