Shield Or; issuant from base a triplemount Vert, charged with an inescutcheon Argent; charged with hammer and mallet Sable; in chief a cross of fir twigs Sable.
Meaning:
The arms are basically those of the Benedictine Niederalteich Monastery. The additional cross of fir twigs is referring to the location in the Bavarian Forest. The inescutcheon displays the symbols of mining. Between 1562 and the beginning of the 19th century silver, lead and gold had been mined in the area.
