Großheirath Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, at dexter Or three flax blossoms Azure seeded Or ordered 1:2, at sinister Azure a crozier Argent in pale, base parted of Azure and Or a lower demi-millwheel in counterchanged tinctures.
Meaning:
In 1978 Großheirath merged with Rossach. The flax blossoms are taken from the municipal arms of Rossach from 1955. The pattern had been based on a local seal with prints from 1792. Flax had been cultivated in the past alongside the valley of the Itz River. The crozier and the tinctures blue and golden are taken from the arms of the Langheim Abbey, which had been local ruler of the former villages of Gossenberg, Neuses an der Eichen and Watzendorf, today parts of Großheirath. The wheel is referring to the watermills and the use of water power alongside the Itz River in the past.
