Shield Gules a man statant Argent clad in armour with helmet and holding a halberd Argent hafted Or in pale by his dexter hand and a fish Argent haurient by his sinister hand.
Meaning:
Roding had been a market town since around 1270. The arms were granted in 1432 together with banner and seal. The grant denoted the fish as a char (Latin: Salvelinus, Bavarian: Rötel). The fish is considered to be a canting element. The choice of a man under armour probably has to do with the Hussite Wars. The pattern remained basically the same but changed in minor details. Philipp Apian painted the arms in 1568. Since then the tinctures frequently changed. The current tinctures are in use at least since 1850, also as colours of the banner.

Banner and arms were granted in 1432 by Palatine Count Johann of Pfalz-Neumarkt, Duke in Bayern.
