Shield Sable parted by a bend chequered of Gules and Argent, in dexter base and sinister chief a Latin cross trefly Or.
Meaning:
The Cistercian bend is reminding on the Cistercian Oberschönenfeld Nunnery and the crosses on the Benedictine Collegiate Church of St. Ulrich and Afra. Since 12th century the church accumulated numerous estates in the village. The nunnery acquired large possessions in 1266, donated by Burgrave Albert of Villenbach from the Burgau kin.
